Andrew Chen

Andrew combines a strong technical background with hands-on experience across both the commercial and public sectors. He has worked for an early-stage venture capital fund specialising in deep tech, been on the Boards of several start-ups, and supported government agencies to ensure new digital tools are used responsibly. Andrew emphasises making complex ideas simple, whether advising on ethics, technology risks, or business growth. Andrew holds a PhD in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Auckland, where his research in artificial intelligence won a best doctoral thesis award.
