Shyla Mani

Kia ora! I’m Shyla, and I’m passionate about taking impactful science and technology innovations from Aotearoa to the world. I am happy to be a student member of the Physical Sciences ROS committee!

I have a strong passion for research commercialisation in the cleantech and greentech sectors. Through the Bioscience Enterprise programme, I have gained business and commercialisation skills that complement my background in life sciences, where I specialised in plant and microbe biotechnology and environmental sciences. My experience also includes innovation-focused and community-based environmental research, which has deepened my appreciation for how innovations in the cleantech space can improve the planetary and societal health outcomes for the future.

Being a part of ROS has strengthened my understanding of local innovation pipelines and enhanced my ability to collaborate effectively with researchers through empathy and clear communication.
